Establish Colorado's Gunnison Valley as the SINGER- SONGWRITER capital of the Rocky Mountains. 

We will Attract, Support and Grow a community of singer-songwriters by providing Performance, Music Industry, Life Services, Networking, Education, and Community Engagement opportunities.

Why is this important?

Study after study has shown that live music events have a huge impact on physical and mental health. Concerts reduce stress, release happy hormones (like oxytocin and dopamine), improve brain function and longevity, provide essential social connection, and even relieve pain.  Music is the universal language of the human soul.  Live Music is a foundational component to any growing community and improves overall community health,  well-being, and spirituality. Today more than ever, we need music to help build true communities of loving, caring, connected and supportive people.  Essentially, live music is really, really good for you and for your community.

Why HERE and why NOW?

The number of musicians and the number of live music events in the Gunnison Valley have declined signifiantly over the past 20 years.   Musicians are moving to other resort towns where there are more opportunities to perform and collaborate. By establishing GVMA we plan to reverse these trends by creating a musician freindly enviornment where musicans can live and flourish.   The Gunnison Valley  has the most expansive performance and educational music infrastructure in the Rocky Mountains…. (25+) Local Performance establishments; 3 World Class Outdoor Performance Venues; NASM accredited Western Colorado University Department of Music performance and recording, and an established local community of passionate and proven singer/songs writer mentors, and so much more.
